When to trek?
Mid Sept-October – November : Best time to go for a trek in Nepal. Though the trails are crowded, This is the best time to travel in Nepal.
March – May: Second best season of year to go for a trekking.
December – January -February: Sky are generally clear but high snow fall at this time.
June – Mid September: Monsoon in Nepal, hence not so favorable time to go for a trekking. There is a high risk of leeches in Mardi Himal route.
Mardi Himal Trek starts from Pokhara – which is connected to all the major cities of the Nepal. Pokhara is around 200 km west of Kathmandu from where all major domestic airlines run several flights daily from Kathmandu. Meanwhile, You can also hire a private vehicle or can take a tourist bus to Pokhara which is 6-7 hours drive.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu (1300m) To Pokhara (800m).
Day 2: Drive to Dhampus and trek to Forest Camp (2480m).
Day 3: Forest Camp to High Camp (3150 m).
Day 4: High Camp To Basecamp (4500) To Low Camp (3150m).
Day 5: Low Camp to Forestcamp To Australian Basecamp (2165m).
Day 6: Australian Basecamp To Kande To Pokhara.
Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu.
