Gokyo Ri Trek: 11 Days Gokyo Ri Trek Outline Itinerary For 2020

Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu airport (1,400m) to Lukla (2,800m) and Trek to Phakding (2,652m). Overnight stay at Phakding. It will take 4 to 5 hours from Lukla to reach Phakding.

Day 2: Trek from Phakding (2,652m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). It will take 5 to 6 hours to reach Namche from Phakding. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar. There is plenty of good accommodation available at Namche along with coffee shops and pubs.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar (3,440m). Visit monastery, museum and hop around the market.

Day 4: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440m) to Dole (3,680m). It will take you 6 hours to reach dole from Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Trek from Dole (3,680m) to Machhermo (4,470m). It will take you 4 hours to reach Machhermo from Dole.

Day 6: Trek from Machhermo (4,470m) to Gokyo Valley (4,800m). Start early from Machhermo, It will take 4 hours to reach Gokyo valley. You can take rest for a while and start exploring the lakes. Gokyo lakes are the world’s highest freshwater lake system comprising six main lakes.

Day 7: Start early trek to Gokyo Ri (5,357m). You can see the majestic view of lakes, glaciers, and mountains from the peak.

From the peak of Gokyo Ri, You can see four 8,000-metre peaks(Mt Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu) along with an amazing panoramic view of other mountain ranges.

Day 8: Trek from Gokyo Valley (4,800m) to Dole (3,680m) –7 hours

Day 9: Trek from Dole (3,680m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – 6 hours

Day 10: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440m) to Lukla (2,800m) – 8 hours

Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu (1,400m) from Lukla (2,800m). It will take 30-40 minutes to reach Kathmandu from Lukla airport.
