Jeju Air Flight 2216 crash landed at Muan International Airport killing more than 85 passengers. Flight 2216 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan International Airport in Muan, South Korea. On 29 December 2024, Jeju Air Flight 2216 Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft veered off the runway at Muan International Airport and crashed into a barrier. It was carrying 181 occupants: 175 passengers and 6 crew members. A total of 179 people were confirmed dead. Video footage surfaced on various news media showed the aircraft skidding down the runway without its landing gear deployed before colliding with the embankment and exploding.
